Week 5 - Paper and Cardboard Models

Rough measurements of my room were taken
These measurements were then converted according to a 1:20 scale, for modelling with plain A4 printer paper. (I decided not to stick with 1:10 as it would have required pieces that exceeded the size of the A4 paper I only have available in my house)

The final result:

A second model was also made of the same room at the same scale, but with cardboard instead (sourced from cereal boxes). I found that the cardboard, while much sturdier than printer paper and possessing the thickness to prevent bleeding of light through the material, was also a bit harder to manipulate and glue together.

Week 4 - Finalising the Assessment Task

Week 4 was spent getting our group composite images ready for submission. The final products:
The 5 individual photoshops stitched together, left to right: Rolls Royce > silver chair > Arc de Triomphe > pine tree > Donald Trump

Our infographics put together into one canvas

The pedestrian movement map of our site on Colombo Theatre and Fig Tree Lane

A collage of the processes that lead us to our final works.

Week 3 - Site Observation and Documentation (03/03/2020)

A very rough sketch of a particular section of our site - the corridor along Columbo Theatre and Fig Tree Lane. Measurements are approximate, obtained from using our feet. We also measured the length of one tile and counted the number of tiles.
Arrows at the bottom indicated the main pathways taken by pedestrians - they seemed to stick to sides and avoided walking in the middle of the road.
