Photoshop Composite Task

Bringing the Arc de Triomphe to UNSW.

Quite a few difficulties were encountered in the process of creating this composite image. For one, the original image of the Arc de Triomphe was set at night, so the lighting on the arch was very unnatural. Adjusting the colour to suit this daytime setting was arduous, but I think I managed to do decently. Second, the perspective of the original Triomphe image was also very unsuited for this image if left as is, so I had to play around a lot with the primitive perspective tool (on an older version of PS) to achieve this end result, which also turned out decently.

Week 2 - In Studio (25/02/2020)

In our second studio, we were given a collection of data sets - and we were required to come up with 3 words to describe each set.

Students in Faculties
diverse, education, competitive
Students in BENV1010 by Discipline
multicultural, popularity, collaboration
Food on Campus
instantaneous, variation, overpriced
Transport to UNSW
convenience, sustainable,
Weather Forecast on Tuesday 25th February
daily, humidity, seasonal

Being assigned the data set for weather, I decided on an image for each of the three words and, after using the Adobe Capture app, ended with these colour swatches.

daily

humidity

seasonal

Week 1 - Site Observation and Documentation (18/02/2020)

Our group (#4) was assigned a grid centred on Colombo Theatre as our site to document and observe.

The process of documentation and observation, for this first session, involved photographing different parts of the site.

It also required several blind contour drawings...

... and some sketching.

Week 1 - In Studio (18/02/2020)

First task of the new term: draw these chairs...

...using negative space

...using blind contour techniques

...using cross-hatching and stippling.
